Client Success in Their Own Words

Earlier this year, we asked our clients to share their successes over the past year. We are proud of the work our borrowers do to help their neighborhoods flourish. Here are a few stories we received from them in their own words.

We nearly doubled our annual revenue, started a new department offering 3D & CG services, and hired three new employees. We laid the groundwork to be able to hire an additional 5 employees in our first quarter of 2023. We were also able to expand our 401K contributions for our employees and offer more paid time off. This was also our first year being able to offer our workers holiday bonuses.”

Christopher McGeorge, Wild Blue Studios, Los Angeles, CA

“…we serve Medicaid patients Medically Tailored Grocery Boxes through a contract with Mass General Brigham Hospital and the state. We served approximately 300 families on a weekly bases in 2022. And 150 in 2021. In 2022, we were able to bounce back from the pandemic and we doubled our sales as the demand for catering returned. We also were the recipients of a large contract to work with Mass General Brigham to provide medically tailored grocery boxes to Medicaid recipients.”

“Our Round Up at the Register Program provided over $25,000 to local non-profit programs in 2022 and we did a pre-holiday Thanksgiving donation of free range whole turkeys to the local homeless shelter, donating 25 turkeys for their holiday dinner.”

Jackie Pope-Ganser, Green Top Grocery, Bloomington, IL

We won best of RI local market for the 2nd year in a row. We also won the CCMA startup food co-op award in June 2022. We have nearly tripled our Food For all membership and have established key relationships with community partners to expand outreach about Food For All.”

Jennie Msall, Urban Greens Co-op Market, Providence, RI

“With back-to-back “generational” snow storms before Thanksgiving and Christmas 2022, staff members who were within walking distance of the store stepped up to shovel and work wherever they were needed. We were able to open for the community when other stores could not.”
