Last month, our Managing Director of Strategy & Development, Amine Benali, wrote an opinion editorial responding to a New York Times article about an Amherst, MA student journalist’s exposė on prison labor contracts in MA public schools.
One of LEAF’s longtime borrowers and community partners, Wellspring Upholstery, received recognition in both articles for being a socially responsible, democratic enterprise that competes with prison labor on a regular basis.
The op-ed was published in Digboston, an alt-weekly paper covering “everything worth doing or knowing in the Boston area”. You can read Amine’s piece here.
