Sample call script (or adapt for an email):

Hi, my name is [__________]. I live/work in Representative [_________]’s district. May I speak to Representative [__________] or their staff? I’m calling to request that you co-sponsor Amendment #692 sponsored by Rep. Dan Donahue that would allocated $300,000 for the Massachusetts Food Trust Program. The Food Trust Program addresses critical gaps in food equity by supporting the development and expansion of food enterprises in underserved communities with limited access to fresh, healthy, and affordable foods. This program is a critical tool in spurring local economic growth and benefiting local public health, leveraging millions of dollars of additional public and private investment. I hope you will co-sponsor amendment #692 in support of healthy food access. Thank you for your time and consideration. If you have any questions, you may reach me at [phone number].
