Meet Carol Ann McAuliffe, LEAF’s Chief Financial Officer

Q: What do you like best about LEAF?

Carol Ann: The best part of working at LEAF is the people. My coworkers are passionate and smart with different perspectives and backgrounds. It’s a dedicated team. You can tell it has something special by our low turnover. They are inspiring and everyone pitches in.

The collaborative, high-performing team makes the HR aspect of my job easy.

Q: How do you spend your time at LEAF?

Carol Ann: I spend my time looking back at the last fiscal year to complete our audit and other required filings and reports, and looking forward to the next fiscal year and beyond to plan for LEAF’s financial health and growth to support our strategic plans.  And also, time in the current fiscal year, to keep up with the day-to-day and month-to-month.

Automation has been essential to enhancing LEAF’s efficiency. On the Finance team and with the other departments, we  support LEAF’s growth through technology. Automation and new technological tools give us greater analytical capacity and bandwidth.

Risk and compliance are another important aspect of the role, protecting the organization, our investors, and clients. We need to comply with our funders’ requirements and those of the city, state, and federal agencies. I am responsible for ensuring we are properly insured and have safeguards in our IT environment.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Carol Ann: Family is most important to me, and spending time with her husband, three children, and extended family, including the dog, Russell. My goal is to get better at golf.
