LEAF Client, MathTalk Founder, Omo Moses, Authors a Multigenerational Memoir

The White Peril by Omo Moses is a powerful, multigenerational memoir that shines a light on the Black American experience. Omo Moses, son of civil rights icon Bob Moses, traces Omo’s family’s journey across three generations, entwining self-discovery with his father’s activism and great-grandfather’s sermons.

Born in Tanzania to parents fleeing US government persecution, Omo returned to America as a young boy. There he faced white supremacy first-hand. His evocative narrative explores the tensions of growing up Black in a segregated enclave in Cambridge, MA, Omo’s passion for basketball, and his path to social justice teaching students in the Algebra Project with his father and brothers. The White Peril captures one man’s experience of being Black in America with the complexities of racial identity, and the ongoing fight for liberation.

The White Peril is for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the legacy of racial justice, both past and present. Omo Moses is the founder of MathTalk, a LEAF client.
