The company’s success has rested in large measure on the skill and determination of its founder, Janet Campbell (pictured with the rest of the administrative staff in the photo).
LEAF and ICA have played critical roles in helping guide the overall operation. ICA prepared the company’s initial business plan. Since inception, ICA has provided oversight of I Am Unique’s financial reporting, and recently, ICA helped obtain additional financing for the business from the National Cooperative Bank Development Corporation. LEAF recruited a local semi-retired small business owner to serve on the board and has met monthly with the board to help keep the enterprise on course.
